To flush the machine out at the start, I put the switch on the left down to the coffee cup and the pump switch on the right up, I also opened the steam wand. The water came out of the steam wand. How do I flush the water out through the coffee handle?
When the machine is in coffee mode (left-hand switch down) water will from from the brewing group through the coffee handle...
To purge the machine open the steam valve and activate the pump... when water flows from the steam arm close the steam valve while leaving the pump operating... water will then flow from the brewing group.
To make a coffee you put the switch on the left down and the one on the right up to pump. When should you put the switch on the left up?
To steam milk you switch the left-hand switch to its upper most position.... the temperature will then climb until the readout blinks.... you can now open the steam valve (do not run the pump) to release steam into your milk...
After you have steamed your milk switch the left-hand switch back to its lower most point.... the boiler temperature will then lower
What is the best position to leave the switch on the left in when not using but just warming it up?
Always leave the left-hand switch in its lower most setting (coffee).... the only exception is when you are steaming milk... but then you should switch it back to coffee mode
I noticed the temperature fluctuated greatly through the period of time I had it on. Do I need to wait for it to lower to 90 before making a coffee or if I start using it at 118 it will sort itself out?
118 is too hot for making coffee.... you want to let the temperature settle to ~88-92 when starting to brew coffee.... the temperature will drop when making coffee... this is fine... the starting temperature is the most important
To forth milk I open the steam on the side and put the switch on the right up to pump, what should I do with the switch on the left?
Never operate the pump switch when steaming milk.
To steam milk you switch the LH switch to its upper most position.... the temperature will then climb until the readout blinks.... you can now open the steam valve (do not run the pump) to release steam into your milk...
After you have steamed your milk switch the LH switch back to its lower most point.... the boiler temperature will then lower
